Have you watched all the seasons of the JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure anime and especially love Giornoâs theme song from Part 5, called Golden Wind (also known as Il Vento dâOro)? If so, read this article carefully, because youâll learn how to play this melody on your 17-tine kalimba using the sheet music and tablature weâre providing for free.
Letâs jump right in with JoJoâs sheet music.
First, apply this special tuning to your kalimba
Unfortunately, the theme song from Golden Wind cannot be played without first applying a very specific tuning. If your instrument is currently tuned to C major, as most thumb pianos currently sold on the market are, you will not be able to play this piece. Therefore, you will need to change the notes on the kalimba by strictly following the diagram below:

Not sure how to do this? Itâs very simple, and everything is explained in detail in our tutorial on how to tune a kalimba correctly. Once youâve read this short article, youâll be able to apply all kinds of tunings to your instrument.
Next, JoJoâs music tablature is not for beginners. Youâll need to understand a few basic music-theory concepts, such as ties and augmentation dots. We recommend consulting our guide to reading sheet music and tablature for the thumb piano. Once youâve got the basics down, these music sheets wonât feel mysterious anymore, and youâll be able to tackle the full range of pieces you come across later on.

Although there is ultimately no fundamental difference between a kalimba sheet music with letters and numbers, some musicians prefer a lettered version because theyâre used to that system. Therefore, you will find it right here.

Consider a kalimba tablature for Golden Wind
More precise and effective than a score with numbers or letters, the kalimba tablature will help you deliver a polished performance of JoJoâs Golden Wind. You will need to understand several music-notation symbols, though.

What is JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure?
JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure is a manga series for adult readers by Japanese artist Hirohiko Araki. It was first published in 1986 and is still ongoing, with new chapters released regularly. The manga was later adapted into an animated series in 2012 and split into multiple parts. The anime is also still in production, following Arakiâs continued storyline. Its popularity is huge: itâs among the 20 best-selling manga series in the world, with over 120 million volumes sold.
The story of JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure follows the adventures of the Joestar family across several generations. As a result, itâs difficult to summarise the series as a whole: plots, time periods, and characters vary widely from one part to the next, ranging from a heroic tale set in the 19th century to a modern-day crime story, as well as drama on the eve of World War II. Each part has its own world and atmosphere, with the main link being one or more members of the Joestar family taking centre stage. Another shared element is that the protagonists have supernatural powers, whether thatâs extreme physical strength, the ability to stop time for a few seconds, or controlling fire and flames.

Where does the song Golden Wind come from?
The melody featured in the kalimba sheet music youâve discovered in this article comes from Part 5 of the JoJo anime, called Golden Wind. The track is actually titled "Il Vento dâOro," meaning "the golden wind" in Italian. This song was composed by Yugo Kanno, a Japanese artist born on 5 June 1977, who mainly works on anime, Japanese dramas, and video games.
In the Golden Wind arc, the story takes place in Naples in 2001 and follows the journey of Giorno Giovanna, a descendant of the Joestar family, who aims to become the head of the local mafia in order to put an end to the drug trafficking that plagues the city. He faces Diavolo, the leader of a group called "Passione," whom he attempts to overthrow. The track âIl Vento dâOro,â which often plays during Giornoâs scenes, is widely seen as his musical theme.

Honour JoJo by playing Giornoâs theme on a high-quality kalimba
If there is one song that stands out in the entire JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure anime, itâs Giornoâs theme in Part 5, Golden Wind. With its catchy rhythm and memorable melody, itâs easy to see why youâd want to play it on your 17-key kalimba. Thanks to the sheet music and tablature youâve seen here, all you have to do now is take the time to study this piece so you can play it.
However, the kalimba is a rather intimate instrument that doesnât project a lot of volume. That can be frustrating if you want to be heard by several people at once. To solve this problem, Instruments du Monde offers a high-quality electric, battery-powered kalimba model that lets you plug the instrument directly into a portable speaker to boost its volume. Itâs the perfect pick for playing Il Vento dâOro in front of an audience!
