Singing Bowl Note F

Discover the link between singing bowls and the healing practices of the Bön religion

Bön priests, members of a religion present in Tibet long before Buddhism, believed that the sound vibrations emitted by bowls could balance the energies of body and mind. As a result, patients at the time were convinced they could heal physical and spiritual ailments in this way. This practice was later adopted by early Tantric Buddhist pioneers as Buddhism spread across Asia. Over time, singing bowls became traditional instruments used in meditation and healing ceremonies. Research by explorer Frank Perry highlights how the singing bowl began in sacred Bön traditions before becoming a staple in Buddhist practice. By welcoming a singing bowl into your life, you’re taking part in a shamanic and animistic healing tradition that goes back thousands of years. Step into this sonic journey now.

The Tibetan singing bowl: a tool used in post-traumatic stress management

The therapeutic effect of Tibetan singing bowls in easing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder has made this instrument increasingly popular in the medical community. Bowls can be made from quartz or from a blend of gold, mercury, copper, and other metals, producing rich, high-quality vibrations that help soothe listeners. The sound waves created by this type of bowl may help calm an overactivated nervous system and reduce symptoms associated with PTSD. Based on a 2020 literature review in Germany, singing bowls showed evidence of reducing anxiety and improving sleep in people living with PTSD. On a more energetic level, the instrument is also said to help balance chakras and cleanse the surrounding space. If you’re looking to support your well-being, a Tibetan bowl can be a beautiful ally. Experience it now.

Discover the role of singing bowls in sophrology

Another important role of Tibetan bowls is in sophrology, a dynamic relaxation method built around breathing and guided visualisation with a positive focus. As a catalyst for relaxation, it helps the brain settle into a calm, soothing state. A 2018 study by the Paris Institute of Sophrology found that the vibrations produced by Tibetan singing bowls can help manage stress symptoms and promote relaxation. Though still under-recognised, sophrology is an effective alternative wellness practice that continues to grow year after year. Whether you’re a sophrologist or simply looking for more ways to relax and stay centred, Tibetan bowls are a powerful ally for finding peace in an increasingly stressful world. Invite well-being into your life today by purchasing a singing bowl.

Discover the importance of sacred metals in the manufacture of Tibetan singing bowls

Tibetan metal bowls are made from an alloy of seven sacred metals, each associated with a planet in the solar system. For example, gold, linked to the Sun, is connected with the crown chakra, while silver, linked to the Moon, is associated with the sacral chakra. This unique combination makes these vibrational bowls especially valued for supporting chakra alignment and inviting in positive energy to nurture your vital force. Explore how sacred metals are traditionally used to balance chakras and elevate the spirit.
