What is The Legend of Zelda?
The Legend of Zelda, more commonly known as Zelda, is a series of video games produced by Nintendo. It is one of the most famous series alongside Super Mario and Pokémon, and every console designed by the Japanese company has had at least one title from the Zelda franchise. Having been interested in music since the age of 5, Koji Kondo was Nintendo’s first employee to work full-time in sound when he was hired in 1984. Then, the following year, in 1985, he composed the music for Super Mario Bros. and the first Zelda game. Given the popularity of these games, due in part to Koji Kondo’s music, he continued to compose the music for the following installments. To this day, he continues to work on the Mario and Zelda franchises, but with the help of a much larger team, and now only composes a few tracks per game himself.
