Because we believe it’s only natural to give back to nature what we borrow from it, Instruments du Monde is involved in various reforestation projects in collaboration with the European nonprofit environmental organization Tree-Nation. Find out how you, too, can support these initiatives.
Reforestation Projects
A simple principle: offset our environmental impact
Faced with the many environmental challenges we encounter, it’s clear we need to take every possible measure to offset the impact our company has on the planet.
Since some of our instruments are crafted from wood, we identified a straightforward way to give back: participating in reforestation projects that go beyond simply offsetting.
So we decided to implement a simple and effective principle: for every order, we plant a tree. This applies regardless of the order amount. As a result, if you place an order for a kalimba, which is a relatively small instrument, you will certainly offset, and even greatly exceed, the impact on forest resources.
1 order = 1 tree planted with Tree-Nation
To plant one tree for every order, we chose to partner with Tree-Nation.
This European nonprofit has been around since 2006, with a mission to reforest the planet—one of the most effective ways to fight climate change.
Tree-Nation supports more than 100 reforestation projects worldwide. Thanks to their efforts and donations from over 300,000 individuals and 8,000 companies, they have already planted 14 million trees, helping offset 1.7 billion metric tons of COâ‚‚.
Real-world results of our environmental commitment since day one
14,054 trees planted
1,503 tons of COâ‚‚ captured (1,342 tonnes)
27.9 acres (11.3 hectares) reforested

Projects we support
Among Tree-Nation’s many initiatives, we first chose “Eden Projects” in Nepal.
Launched in 2015, the goal is to restore key forest areas, helping local communities improve their livelihoods while protecting wildlife, including leopards and the iconic Bengal tiger. Planting sites are located around Chitwan National Park to create a buffer zone around this biodiversity hotspot.
That’s why Instruments du Monde helped plant Acacia catechu trees through this project. But this is only one step, and with your help, we hope to support other initiatives as well. Click the button below to see our contribution to this cause.
Since then, we’ve also joined initiatives like “Plant to Stop Poverty” in Tanzania, which uses an integrated approach to advise and support rural farming communities as they practice agroforestry to fight poverty and the effects of climate change.
Do these projects affect our instrument prices?
Not at all. We fully cover the funds used for this project, so the prices of the musical instruments in our store are not connected to our participation in reforestation projects. We’re firmly committed to that.
For us, it’s simply about supporting a cause we believe is a priority in today’s world and letting you know that part of our profits will help protect the planet for future generations.
