Sheet music and tablature for 7-tine kalimbas

A 7-tine thumb piano can only play seven different notes in a single melody, which is extremely limiting. As a result, it’s difficult—often impossible—to transpose a song in a way that really works on a 7-tine instrument.

If your goal with the kalimba is to play a lot of sheet music and build a large repertoire, a 7-tine model won’t get you there. Instead, choose one with at least 17 tines. With that wider range, several hundred pieces of music will be within your reach.
