A superb 13-inch djembe

When it comes to djembes, the larger the head diameter, the more possibilities the percussionist has. A wider playing surface lets you position your hands with greater precision to bring out more subtle tones that would not be playable on a smaller model. As a result, this 13-inch djembe keeps the classic 24 in (60 cm) height while offering a slightly larger head than a standard model. Its body is made from excellent solid mahogany that has been hand-carved and hand-varnished. This makes each percussion instrument a unique work of art in its own right, since every piece is different from the last. To maximize the acoustics of this natural resonating chamber, a specially selected goatskin head has been installed and tensioned with great care. This djembe will be ready to play as soon as you receive it, carrying you musically to the African continent. Finally, to help the tuning stay in place for a long time, the nylon rope used to tension the head has been fitted with tight, close lacing. That gives you the assurance of playing for a long time without having to adjust it again.
