First, it’s essential to check the tuning of your instrument to make sure the notes produced by the steel tines match what’s expected. This is especially important if you haven’t checked in a while or if something has changed recently, such as a drop or switching to a tuning other than C major.

Why is the song Lost Woods also called Saria's Song?

Originally, in the video game Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Saria teaches Link a tune that celebrates their friendship, known as "Saria's Song." That same theme also plays when you explore a specific area of Hyrule called "The Lost Woods." In other words, both names refer to the same melody. Still, most players have chosen to call it "Lost Woods" rather than "Saria's Song."

It’s worth noting that this piece isn’t only in Ocarina of Time. You can also hear it in its sequel, Majora's Mask, and in two other entries in the series: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. However, you can’t perform it with Link anymore. It’s simply ambient music that shows up at certain key moments in the adventure.

Who composed the Lost Woods melody in Zelda?

Like most of the melodies from the early Zelda games, Lost Woods was composed by Koji Kondo, a Japanese composer who has worked mainly in the video game industry, especially for Nintendo. Among many other iconic themes, he also composed the music for the Super Mario games. He’s still active in the same field, and his team continues to oversee the soundtracks for upcoming Mario and Zelda releases.

Enjoy exceptional tone with a premium kalimba

The musical world of the Zelda video game saga is incredibly rich, and several pieces have left a lasting impression on players. The Lost Woods melody is clearly one of them, and now you have all the music sheets you need to play it beautifully on your thumb piano.

That said, a poor-quality kalimba will never give you the rich, resonant sound of an instrument from a reputable brand. That’s why Instruments du Monde recommends Hluru, a brand that has been offering excellent value thumb pianos for years and has won over thousands of musicians.
