Treat yourself to this outstanding handpan tuned to the Mixolydian scale!
Choose a Mixolydian handpan, a scale born in ancient Greece
The term โMixolydianโ comes from ancient Greek musical theory: it pairs the prefix mixo- (โmixedโ) with Lydian (the Lydian mode). Some theorists attribute its invention to the Greek poet Sappho around 700 BC, although the modern form differs from the ancient version. Heard in jazz, rock, pop, and folk, the Mixolydian scale has stood the test of time, which means these sounds have always appealed to listeners. With a Mixolydian handpan, you can play pieces that feel both uplifting and soothing. Itโs a major scale, yet it also lends itself beautifully to relaxation and meditation. Creating a motivating mood with a touch of mystery, itโs all you need to bring out the virtuoso in you. Start your musical journey today and fall for one of our beautiful handpans.

Rediscover the origins of the full and free versions of the Hang
The genesis of the handpan reached a turning point in 2007 with the appearance of the Integral Hang, where PANArt limited production to a single scale centered around the ding in D3 (D3, A3, Bโญ3, C4, D4, E4, F4, A4). The gu took on a subtly oval shape to improve the tuning of the F5 and Fโฏ5 partials, and the dome of the ding received an annealed brass insert that was then lacquered. The designers published a โLetter from the Hangbauhaus,โ emphasizing that their creations sit outside modern musical norms and encouraging a freer, more introspective approach. In 2010, the Free Integral Hang appeared, removing the brass ring and introducing a triple dome, while tuning each instrument without electronic devices. The ding varies around D3, and the tone fields retain seven notes. This evolution marks a return to handcrafted fundamentals and freedom of expression. Immerse yourself in this philosophical approach and treat yourself to a handpan to enjoy a more intuitive relationship with music.
Explore Berlin and its vibrant monthly handpan gatherings
In Berlin, the Pangonia community invites you to monthly gatherings in unexpected venuesโa prelude to the festival that brings together 14 artists each year for 11 concerts and 7 workshops, from handpan mastery to musical qigong. The idea, born in 2022, brings enthusiasts together for jam sessions, group lessons, and exhibitions by local luthiers. The 2023 festival, organized by 25 volunteers, welcomed more than 100 guests and featured performances by Mayiia, Serร , Tom Vaylo, and the duo 3KEYS. Participants travel by U-Bahn or bicycle thanks to the portability of their instruments, and then gather around vegan food stands, homemade kombucha, and Berlin pastries. Outdoor qigong workshops, handpan-making demonstrations, and jams by the Spree River complete this spirit of co-creation. The handpan fits in any bag for your musical encounters and lets you move from a park to an inner courtyard in minutes. Buy your handpan and dive into Berlinโs artistic buzz now.
Compare the handpan to its cousins, the tongue drum and Rav Vast
If youโre looking for an original instrument, you may have already heard of the tongue drum or Rav Vast. These metal percussion instruments share similarities with the handpan but have distinct characteristics. The tongue drum has tongues cut into its shell that produce soft, short tones. The Rav Vast, on the other hand, stands out for its depth and sustainโclose to the handpan, but with different tuning structures. The handpan, with its two assembled shells and notes arranged around the โding,โ offers intuitive playability and a rich harmonic spectrum. Unlike the tongue drum, it lets you explore advanced techniques such as rolls and harmonics, and itโs equally at home in meditation sessions and on stage. Compare the handpan, tongue drum, and Rav Vast before buying to choose the instrument that best suits your musical goals. Get a handpan and open the door to a world of unlimited sound.
Enjoy online handpan sessions to stay zen
Thanks to technology, your handpan is always with you, even when your teacher is hundreds of miles away. More and more yoga and music therapy studios are offering online classes to help you learn to playโand to meditateโwith this instrument. Created in Bern in 2000, the handpan consists of two welded steel shells that radiate sound waves in all directions. Training platforms show you how to strike each dimple to produce a fundamental tone, an octave, and a fifth, without hitting a wrong note. During a video-call lesson, a music therapist can adjust your posture, while participants experience a sense of community similar to in-person sessions. Recorded videos let you extend the experience at home and practice independently. With a computer and an internet connection, you can enjoy the benefits of this interactive and relaxing handpan course without leaving your living room.
