Tibetan Singing Bowl for the Root Chakra
The root chakra Tibetan singing bowl is a musical instrument dedicated to the first chakra, traditionally located at the base of the body and connected to the earth. In this collection, we’ve brought together crystal and metal bowls that produce a low, resonant sound. Play yours at the start of each session, let your voice blend with its resonance, and enjoy a moment of genuine calm with both feet firmly on the ground.

What does tradition say about a blocked or unbalanced root chakra?

According to tradition, an imbalance in this centre manifests as insecurity, a general sense of anxiety, fear, and stress. It can also involve feeling lost or disconnected, restlessness that makes it hard to sit still, and sometimes financial worries without any real cause. Conversely, a balanced root chakra is said to be associated with stability, confidence, and security, along with a sense of being grounded and aware of your legs and the floor beneath you.
These are subjective signs, not a medical diagnosis. Any pain or physical condition should always be evaluated by a doctor, and your Tibetan singing bowl can accompany any treatment without ever replacing it.
What mantra should you chant with a Tibetan singing bowl for the root chakra?
Its corresponding mantra is LAM, pronounced “lahm.” Tradition calls it a bija mantra, or seed mantra, and it appears at the centre of this chakra’s symbol.
To chant it, sit with your spine lengthened, then make the sound at the end of an exhalation on a low note that feels comfortable for your voice. You can chant it silently in your mind or pronounce it slowly, letting the vibration descend toward your pelvis. At the same time, play your bowl at regular intervals, at a slow pace of 2 to 3 sounds per breath. If you want a continuous sound, rub the rim with the mallet instead. Your voice will then accompany the instrument’s low tone.
