What is the frequency of a Tibetan singing bowl’s B note with a 440 Hz or 432 Hz reference?

The B note of a Tibetan singing bowl vibrates at approximately 494 hertz when the reference A is tuned to 440 hertz, provided it is B in the fourth octave, written B4. Its precise frequency is 493.88 hertz. A note’s frequency changes with each octave: it halves as you go down an octave and doubles as you go up. A bowl sounding B one octave lower will therefore be around 247 hertz, while one sounding B an octave higher will be close to 988 hertz.
When the reference A is tuned to 432 hertz, all the notes are lower, so your B will sound slightly lower than it does with a 440-hertz reference.
Why is a bowl tuned to B often the smallest in a set of Tibetan singing bowls?
A bowl tuned to B is often the smallest in a set because B is the highest note in the scale from C to B. When a set of seven bowls spans one octave, the largest produces the low C and the smallest sounds a B. For crystal bowls, diameter determines pitch. As a guide, a B bowl may measure about 20 cm across, while a low C calls for 30–40 cm and notes in the middle of the scale call for 23–28 cm.
A larger bowl can also produce B, sounding it an octave lower with a deeper, longer-lasting tone. That’s why we offer crystal bowls tuned to B in 25 cm and 30 cm sizes, letting you choose the depth of sound you prefer.
Metal bowls tuned to B come in diameters as small as 8 cm and as large as 17.5 cm. Several of them are also engraved bowls. Some B bowls with diameters of 12–13 cm weigh 400–500 g, while others weigh 700–800 g. Weight alone therefore cannot tell you a bowl’s note. Its frequency depends on its material, opening, density, wall thickness, and diameter.
