He is particularly known for his cartoon voice work, as well as for being the official French voice of actors Jared Leto and Rick Gonzalez. He began his career in 1990 dubbing the character Elliott Cooper in the horror film Troll 2, then continued working regularly up to the present day, voicing a wide range of film and TV projects.

Jasmine, meanwhile, was dubbed in French by Karine Costa, a singer born in 1977 who began her career in 1992 with Aladdin. She later contributed songs to several Disney animated releases, including Pocahontas, Tarzan & Jane, Bambi 2, and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. She released an album in 1995 and has kept a low profile since 2009, when she reportedly stopped working with Disney studios.

What are the origins of Jasmine and Aladdin?

Like many stories reimagined by Disney, the characters of Aladdin and Jasmine trace back to a traditional Arab-Persian tale called “Aladdin, or the Wonderful Lamp.” This story is often associated with One Thousand and One Nights, but in reality, it was only added later, around the 18th century. While Disney’s Aladdin closely resembles the character in the original tale, Jasmine is called Princess Badroulboudour in the story. She is still the sultan’s daughter, but her personality and temperament are quite different.
